'Those who call for the destruction of Israel cannot go unchallenged'

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday was presented with architectural plans for the Auschwitz death camp that were discovered in Berlin last year and will go on display in Israel.

The 29 sketches of the death camp that was built in Nazi-occupied Poland date back as far as 1941, and include detailed blueprints for living barracks, delousing facilities and crematoria, including gas chambers. The sketches are considered important to helping understand the genesis of the Nazi genocide.

U.S. drops demand for Israel building freeze in East Jerusalem

BERLIN - The Obama administration has agreed to Israel's request to remove East Jerusalem from negotiations on the impending settlement freeze.

According to both Israeli officials and Western diplomats, U.S. envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell has recognized the fact that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cannot announce a settlement freeze in East Jerusalem. The officials said the U.S. will not endorse new construction there, but would not demand Jerusalem publicly announce a freeze.

Palestinians: Israel navy fire kills man off Gaza coast

A Palestinian man was killed and another wounded on Thursday by Israeli navy fire off the coast of the northern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian health official said.

Dr. Moaiya Hassanain said the Palestinian men were on land when they were fired upon.
