Egypt: Israel must halt building in East Jerusalem before talks
Egypt's foreign minister says East Jerusalem must be included in a freeze of Israeli settlement activity before Middle East peace talks can restart.
Ahmed Aboul-Gheit told reporters in Stockholm on Friday that Jerusalem is Arab "and it will continue to be so."
Ban Ki-moon: Palestinian unity crucial to Mideast peace talks
It is "crucial" for Palestinians to show unity in order to proceed with negotiations with Israel, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said Friday in Vienna.
Ban said he was encouraged by recent developments in the Middle East, including the election of a national unity government in Lebanon and the reconciliation of a number of countries with Syria.
