LONDON (Reuters) — The Israeli defense minister, Ehud Barak, and President Obama’s Middle East envoy, George J. Mitchell, met here on Monday to discuss forging Middle East peace.
Their meeting, after a similar one in New York last Tuesday, was aimed partly at trying to resolve differences on the issue of construction in Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
“I think there is progress,” Mr. Barak said afterward. “There’s still a way to go.”
